I am such a sucker for the Olympic Games

Original post made by John Naber, another community, on Feb 17, 2010

I make it a point to visit the USA House in Vancouver as often as possible. On last night’s stop, I visited the Team USA gift shop, and I spotted a hot commodity. They were selling knit caps like the ones worn by the US Team into the Opening Ceremony, and they were down to their last two. Nowhere on the streets in Vancouver can an American Tourist purchase USA Olympic gear, but inside the Hospitality Center, it was moving fast. A friend from Florida had already been searching the internet without success, and he called me earlier that day looking for help.

I put both caps on the counter, handed over my Visa card (the only card accepted at the Olympic Games) and signed the slip. $181.44!! Hey, that Ralph Lauren guy makes expensive caps... but these were Canadian dollars. I am such a sucker for the Olympic Games.
