These are smart, successful people who are insulting not just the intelligence of the likes of their fellow MBA's, CEO's and entrepreneurs, but all California voters.

And I detect more than a hint of paranoia with both of these people.

Carly Firiona has always come across to me as an empty suit. More show than substance. HP has done much better since she was FIRED, and she did not leave a great legacy there. She has done little since, and so I fail to understand what qualifies her to be a US Senator. Especially compared to Tom Campbell--hence the very bizarre "Sheep" ad in the link above.

To summarize it, Campbell sometimes has supported changes in tax policy. "Bad, Bad Tom!" What simplistic tripe.

I do not perceive Steve Poizner or Meg Whitman as having the background that is needed in our next Governor. I have the same opinion about Jerry Brown, and we will be stuck with one of them.

State Insurance Commissioner and GOP Gov candidate Poizner has his own "Sheep" pronouncements earlier this week against Meg, and they did not play well with me. The reports are that Meg's campaign folks tried to "cut a deal" to get Steve to focus on running against Diane Feinstein for Senate in 2012, and withdraw from the Governator race. Lots of heat on Steve's side about this, some of it suggesting a lack of judgment--maybe that was the whole sinister plot on Meg's side and Steve fell for it!

I view Carly as a charlatan, but I think the other three are fine, accomplished people. It is a shame that things have gotten off to such an ugly start for these GOP State primary campaigns.

There are so many important and difficult challenges we face in this State and in the country, it saddens me that people of this caliber and ability are dumbing down the issues and themselves.
