if Palo Alto is so bicycle-friendly, why don't we have a bicycle taxi service like in Mountain View?

Dublin (Ireland) has been using free bicycle rickshaw taxis around the city for several years. They are funded by advertising and powered by fit young students and really do exist.

These would be a great idea to help reduce traffic, reduce drunk driving, reduce pollution, and bring more customers to local businesses.

Is University Ave. so much more dangerous than Castro Street? I don't read about people being robbed by crooks with assault rifles on University Ave.
