96 YR OLD PALO ALTO MAN FINALLY BURIED AFTER NEARLY 2 MONTHS
Crimes & Incidents, posted by geraldine kinyon, a resident of the Green Acres neighborhood, on Mar 6, 2007 at 7:41 pm

Read front page story in San Jose Mercury News (2-28-07)regarding treatment of this gentle man (CHARLES GRANT) who died within days of being strapped into his Kaiser hospital bed AND drugged because he wanted only to "go home"..which was being readied for sale through the Santa Clara County's Public Guardian's office and the local bank...HEARTBREAKING story.

Mr. Grant, 96, was to be able to live in his Palo Alto house until he died ~as per an agreement between the Santa Clara County and the bank, who forclosed on the home after a con woman that was living with him defrauded him out of his home by obtaining 3 loans (over $350,ooo on one loan alone.) The house went into forclosure due to non payment of his con artist live in. The woman spent one year in jail.

About six years later, after the County hired a long time friend of Mr. Grant's to move in and care for him. The caretaker became ill and had to move in with relatives. The pay that the woman was getting was just a token amount, a lot of it which she spent herself on Mr. Grant's care..haircuts, newspaper delivery, transportation to doctors, anything that she felt he needed. These were things that the County was not paying for and that she did not get reimbursed for, out of the goodness of her heart. She treated him like family, having Mr. Grant attend most all her family's functions.

When the long time caretaker left, the County said he had no money left for his home care. They hired two different women to come live in 24 hours each, switching days. Quite expensive through an outside agency.

At that point, Mr. Grant was transported to a board and care home in Mt. View, which the County felt was a cheaper way of giving service to him, plus then the bank could reclaim and sell the home. Immediately, his personal collection of most items in his home were taken to an auction house in Sunnyvale, arranged by the County. Few items were transferred with him to the care home.(Pictures, bathrobe, few clothes.) He was not bedridden. He just painted his house's mailbox the week they took him out of it. He was up and around.

The County knew he was a Veteran. I had a question in my mind of why they did not place him into a Veteran's home, give him a Veteran's funeral.

Not only was he physically abused, but Guardian's office left his body in a funeral home for almost two full months..before the paperwork mistake was discovered that the worker made, saying he was already buried..

RIP Charles, you defended our Country, I needed to defend you and bring this to light...

What a cruel, uncivilized country this is...

RIP

This is what you get after many decades of American mainstream media presenting storylines that manipulated many Amercian "haves" into resenting American "have-nots".

Inhumane.

May all of those people who profit from such injustice be stricken with an inablility

to hide inside of their empty minds.
