Live a mile downwind of a coal fired plant, you might occasionally whiff the stack gas, but you benefit immediately and continuously from the electricity. One backyard barbeque will put more products of combustion in your lungs that a year's plant operation.
While I share your enthusiasm for nuclear power, I question whether there is a clear and present danger from continuing to rely on coal until we are built out on nukes.
Just checked my mail box - no coal company checkes yet. And I don't expect a check from Soros.
