Exhaust Fumes From Construction Site
Palo Alto Issues, posted by pamela, a resident of the Evergreen Park neighborhood, on Jun 12, 2006 at 8:43 am

I am off to city hall to try to stop a construction project on 1795 El Camino. This now empty lot, used to be a gas station. The current process of cleaning the lot, is causing smelly fumes to be released, and causing headaches for me and my neighbors. The enviromental clean up crew sent a rep. over on Sat.-- he said that they want to be a good neighbor. I just wonder what my rights are when it comes to developers and projects that may be polluting ... we shall see.

I called the city a few times-- no response. The fumes have been awful all day, the developers are trying to reduce the amount of irritants and fumes. I am really disappointed with the city's lack of response. Neighbors have called Sierra club and other enviromental groups with their growing concerns.
