Soap Box Derby is for kids 8 - 17 years of age
Schools & Kids, posted by joe sparaco, a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, on Feb 9, 2007 at 2:47 pm

There are lots of activities for kids, with opportunities to win "The Big Prise" at the end of each season, but how many opportunities are there for kids who don't "Run As Fast", Jump As High, Throw As Far", or even have a desire to participate in tough sports such as soccar, football, baseball etc.? NOT MANY!

The Soap Box Derby gives kids of all ages and degree's of physical or mental capacities an opportunit to compete in, and to excel in, as any of the above mentioned sporting activities do.

If this isn't good enough, where can your kids get as good a bonding opportunity with mom or dad, learn to use hand tools to build something from scratch, then race it down a hill and find the satisfaction of finishing a project and then winning a trophy for the effort? Well I'm here to tell you that the Soap Box Derby gives families all of that plus teaches kids the spirit of competition and sportsmanship that builds a leftime of success.

Don't be a fool... Call the Elks Lodge and find out how you can get yourself and your kids involved in the All American Soap Box Derby this year. We are going to race 40+ cars down the hill at Dana Street in Mountain View on June 9th and 10th, and your kids can be in for the ride of their life by joining.

If you don't think you can afford it, you might be wrong... Ask us if we can help find a sponsor for your kid so he/she can get involved.
