Just picked up my copy of PA Weekly to find out what happened at last night's PAUSD Board Meeting. Unfortunately, there was no mention of it, the article about MI being recommended by the Superintendent was sadly out of date. So, finding a copy of the Daily, I read the news there. My opinion of the Daily's accuracy is quite low, so turned to this medium to find the news. Here there is mention of it and low and behold, many comments by readers.
Now I know this is the 21st century and everything, but to find that the most current issue of a newspaper is out of date before it is even published is getting quite ridiculous. I know many people get their news online, but many don't have the opportunity to do this as easily as reading the newspaper. In the days when newspapers are complaining that their readership is diminishing due to the internet, shouldn't they be striving for keeping ahead. Certainly not satisfied with lagging behind. So come on PA Weekly, if the Daily can do it, so can you.

Unfortunately the Wednesday edition of the Weekly has to go to press before the Tuesday night school board meeting even begins -- thus we had no way of knowing what the board members planned to say until they actually said it. We simply have to go with the latest information available, which was the superintendent's new recommendations.
We do hold space in the Wednesday paper for news from Monday night meetings, such as the City Council, but otherwise we don't have a reliable crystal ball with which to foretell the future. If readers are to get their Weeklies on Wednesdays, the papers need to be at the Post Office (or to the distributors) Tuesday night.
However, we did post a story on Palo Alto Online Tuesday evening as soon after the board meeting as possible, allowing time only to get it written and edited, and there will be expanded coverage in Friday's paper.
