Now that I read the so-called feasibility study and the late breaking “recommendations” by the superintendent I am mortified. Why is this program being forced onto a community that has valid concerns and issues that are being whitewashed? The Ohlone proposal is just one more in a long list of stop gaps to get this program in no matter what. For the superintendent to say we should launch a choice program serving a very small percentage of students because it is “affordable” instead of doing the hard work of getting a real language program for all students implemented is a monumental failure of management. Above all, we are a public school district. There are a host of real issues we should all be spending our time and dollars on, not a narrow program serving the interests of a very few.

This online petition was created to allow Palo Alto residents to voice opposition to the proposed MI program the School Board is now considering.
There have been more than 500 signers of a a hard-copy petition. So if you have already signed a hard-copy, you do not need to sign here. Duplicate names will be removed before passing this list on to the Board.

"monumental failure of management" is an understatement. Here we have a lame duck recommendation that we can dump on a new supt and business manager in the fall. We sure don't want to wait for some of their expertise and imput as to the financial soundness of this decision. It may fail the test, so let's get it going while we can.
