DishDash
Restaurants, posted by Nat, a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, on Dec 1, 2006 at 1:42 pm

A friend of mine and I ate at DishDash a few months ago. It was very very noisey, but not from music. The noise level was from customers and perhaps the wait staff. We sat by the front window and couldn't hear each other even though we were sitting across from each other at a tiny table! It was the noisiest ambience I remember ever experiencing at a restaurant. The food was not that good, not enough to motivate me to return. The acoustics are just terrible in that space. People were not shouting, were talking at normal levels. The problem is the space. The restaurant could use acoustical tiles perhaps to quiet the sound. Didn't the noise bother others who have eaten there? Let me know if you had the same experience at DishDash in Sunnyvale, or what your experience was. I'd like to know what others think of this restaurant: ambience and food.

Agree. I ate there once and had a horrible experience that I won't go into detail on a public forum such as this. I won't be going there again.

I have always enjoyed DishDash. Yes, it is noisy, but the food is really tasty. I particularly have enjoyed sitting outside during the warmer months at lunchtime.

I've been there many times (more than 20) and I always liked the food. The wraps are good and pretty cheap (ask for spicy sauce if you want to) and the other dishes are very good too.

Note that it is closed on Sundays (except for private events).

My wife and I used to meet there for lunch frequently because we liked the food and found the service friendly.

Unfortunately, we abandoned it after having more than one joint experience of gastric distress. This was a couple of years ago now, so perhaps things have changed since then or our repeated experience was an anomoly. I went by recently and certainly it does not appear that they are lacking customers.
