Palo Alto City Library wishes to introduce you to a new service, BookLetters, an email newsletter and readers advisory service on books, authors and customized newsletters created by the Palo Alto City Library staff. I think it is great that city services are using the Internet to distribute news to the public. This has to be cheaper and more environmentally friendly than printing and mailing newsletters.
Now if we can just get Palo Alto Utilities to stop stuffing their monthly bill with ads. RSS is a much better way to send out stuff like that. PaloAltoOnline has had RSS for a long time now.

Thanks for letting us know, Kathy. I'll check it out. I also really like wowbrary.org. I signed up with them and they now send me a weekly update listing all the new books, CDs, DVDs etc. that you have added to the PA Libraries.
It's really easy to go from there to your catalog and click to reserve anything that looks interesting. Then I get an email when it's ready to pick up. It's a fabulous service, and has broadened my reading/viewing/listening immensely.
