Texas was as good as any team in the country in the first two sets. The 'Horns not only converted repeatedly on first attack on serve receive but made many great digs and ran in-system transition offense off those digs. Did Stanford stumble around? Sure... but they also did that against 'SC at Maples in 2006 when the Women of Troy were up at that other-worldly level, driven to avenge their 3-0 loss to Stanford on the opening night of their new Galen Center.
The difference between the Women of Troy and the 'Horns was that 'SC sustained their level of effort (and swept) and Texas let up just enough for the Card to get back into the match... and the rest was history.

Texas found and exploited every Stanford weakness in the first two sets. Stanford has one rotation they really struggled with all night (rotation 5, with Barboza, Lichtman and Okogbaa in the front row). Texas did them a favor by committing unforced errors that got Stanford out of that rotation quickly.
Penn State has the best setter I have ever seen and also an amazing opposite. I am hoping for a Stanford miracle tomorrow but the main reason nebraska had any success last night was their fan base. There had to be 16,000 Nebraska fans in that arena. I will be yelling my head off tomorrow but I don't think I can make *that* much noise.
