Paly girls' volleyball faces rough CCS stretch

Original post made on Nov 15, 2008

It was time to enjoy the moment after the Palo Alto girls' volleyball team opened the Central Coast Section Division II playoffs with a quick sweep of visiting Westmont on Wednesday night. First and foremost, the Vikings' 25-9, 25-9, 25-22 victory was the last home match of the season, and thus the triumph was a fitting sendoff for Paly's six-member senior class.

Don't forget Paly Vikings of 2000 made it to the finals, going down to St. Francis dashing their final stop of State. No other team has managed to pass that record yet, but records are made to be broken and the impossible CAN happen - think Paly Basketball State Champs just a few short years ago. Good luck Paly~ you girls have worked hard.

It's going to be a great match-up against Mitty. If the Paly girls play Wednesday with as much heart as they did today, they should win the match-up. #17 (Coleman) had a fantastic game today. One of the most underrated superstars in the league.

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 23 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away more than $4 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. When you make a donation, every dollar is automatically doubled, and 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
