SPORTS: Stanford a win away from being bowl eligible

With Stanford Stadium turning into a marsh, the Cardinal football team got better as the conditions worsened. The running game etched itself into school history in a number of categories. More importantly, Stanford won at home, 58-0, over Washington State on Saturday and the season remains full of promise.

Glad to see Stanford benefiting from the sub-par Pac-10 this year.
