The victim did a good job of calling the police quickly. And the cops did a good job of responding quickly.

Congratulations on catching one.

But, many women do not have the luxury of driving home after work or getting someone to meet them. For many women walking alone to or from a bus or train is the only option when they finish work.

It would be better to find some other advice than don't walk alone.

Burns is the Assistant Chief. There is no such position as "Duputy Chief" in PAPD. He is the second in charge in the department and has always been a great cop. Awesome job Dennis!

Interesting the criminal was in uniform "wore a black-hooded sweatshirt to conceal his face, and blue jeans."

The good news is one down and 299 more to go. It is a start.

Thanks to the police and fast work.

I hope the lady is OK

I guess the old anti-KKK mask laws are out of the question, however it is not out of the question to inquire of anyone wearing a hood as to the state of their health.

most perps. of these crimes are described the same way. Blue Jeans and a Black or dark hooded sweatshirt. If you see that while out be more cautions........

Do not worry when Obama becomes president all these problems will disappear,

He will force the redistribution of wealth so that these poor victims of racism do not have to resort to violent robbery.

They will get the reparation they deserve and have been waiting for so long.

Have hope The One is coming to take us away... ha ha

If you haven't noticed, the fashion trend on the runways for the last few years have been the "hoodie" look....Time for a quick fashion change, it's getting crazy out there.

I hope Officer Burns roughed the perp up a bit. Odds are pretty good that our liberal courts will let "Tone" back out soon so he can resort to his previous occupation as a rocket scientist - I mean criminal.

Its possible that they got the wrong guy and won't admit it. Did they find any physical evidence at all? Obviously not. Maybe they'll rough you up next time Super D. Or are you white?

Super D, Maybe officer Burns might roughen you up, or maybe your Dad,mom or sister. Sounds go to me? What do you think criric, KKK alive and well in Palo Alto, Well the colored blind KKK. They will nail anyone to the cross in Palo Alto. Its their fair treatment for all PROGRAM.

Goes around you know? Super D.

Maybe you can resort to your previous/present life as a closed minded bigot?

Criric and fireman, I am Native American and have seen my share of problems on the reservation. If Officer Burns roughs me up when I am resisting arrest, odds are pretty good that I was doing something wrong. And if I was innocent or my rights were violated, then I have the protection of the Constitution afforded to me. So get down off of your soap box and quit being an advocate for the criminal element. What about MY rights to walk the streets without fear of being attacked? What about MY rights to keep the contents of my wallet? If that attitude makes me a bigot, then I guess I'll wear that hat proudly.

Super D, What about my rights. What about Mr Hopkins rights. What about the right to be proven guilty before sent to death row? Get off the indian soap box, This goes for all. Not any one color! Rights, everyone has them. Right. Well not here or with you.

What about the city attacking its employes , A culture of fear for 15 years. Where were the rights then? Should the palo alto city employes not be able to go to work and make a living without being abused and attacked. Then covered up or settled out with city supplied $$$$$$

All to lie to the public? And denial fools run wild with city greatness. You have not been following the events that have been unfolding over the years.
So the Cop who got the load of BS from the Palo Alto Cop should have ROUGHED him up a bit?

You talk like someone who has not last their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.I guess you were wounded by Custards troops? So you know. Talk to me when you lose the RESERVATION. I think you get to keep your problems there. Is that not why the reservation was put in place for you.
Because the outside world was just too rough for you? Other people have to follow the law. And pray they get their rights. Have to fight for them, themselves. With whatever they have to fight with.
We do not get a special place to FIT in.

Super D try to keep your wallet away from the city if they want it? GOOD LUCK.

This is not about crime being ok. You some kind of fool? Being any kind of VICTIM is not good . Look the word up.
It is about why, what is really being done, how it is being done.
And it does not add up to anyone with any common sense, The number to not add up. People are paying lots of money and getting sold a whole load of BS, 11 years the foothills have been ready to explode. Oh that is great service for how many million. I know Officer Burns, Like the Guy, But he does not get to play JUDGE BURNS, street justice. Did not like that when the cowboys tried that with the indians, did ya? Or would you sell out for the whiskey and the yellow stripe.

But you and so many like you are denial driven. You judge by your rules and your no or little information. Just a random guess at justice is what you practice.
Until the tables get turned then you cry. Take me to the reservation.

Oh yea and I voted for Indian rights. I do not try to rule the world. I respect all cultures. Not just the ones I believe in. Could that have something to do with their rights?

look that one up. 1776 is the date.

Nope - not a typo! The guy sold ice cream, flowers and other novelties from his bicycle. He literally did "peddle" away (while yelling "Hielo! Floras!")
