Later start times sound like a great idea. Sleep in, get to school later, start homework later, finish homework later. Oops! It looks like the same cycle of not enough time but later.

Understandably you would view it in that manner, and many may feel the whole notion is just an excuse for procrastination, but later start times has science to back up the case, and don't forget common sense- If we were more awake for our classes, and more awake when we are completing our homework, then our grades go up, property values rise, and we are all happy (just kidding about the latter part of that).

Sure, people may not use the extra time efficiently, but it wasn't meant for them- it was meant for the ones who have sports practices until 8 or 9 pm and when they get home, have dinner, and start their homework, it's already closing in on midnight. It is meant for those of us who don't abuse the little time extra that we have.

This sounds like a fantastic idea. Sleep more. Outsource more.
Is this an idea paid for by the Chinese Govt.

WHY CANN'T THE KIDS START EVERY DAY AT 8:45 AND HAVE CLASSES GO LATER IN THE DAY? THAT WAS THE SCHEDULE ROUTINELY AT MOST SCHOOLS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER AND GUSESS WHAT? THERE WAS TIME FOR BREAKFAST AND A MORE RELAXED FAMILY START TO THE DAY? WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT?!
PAY ATTENTION TO THE STUDIES-KIDS NEED SLEEP -NOT CONTINUAL STRESS- THEY ARE THE ONES THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED-
