Congrats to the Cardinal (players, coaches, and trainers) on a fabulous, gutsy season. When the disappointment of tonight's game lessens, take pride in what you've accomplished as a team.

I am so proud of this basketball team! They have been exciting to watch and a true inspiration to many adults and children alike in our community.

I seldom watch women's basketball games but caught some of Stanford's game leading up

to the final. Obviously they were very entertaining but this final was pretty ugly.

That was some pretty bad basketball by both teams. How in the world did Stanford come

out so flat for such a big game? Were it not for some very poor shooting by Tennessee

Stanford would have been blown out by a much bigger score. Unfortunately they played

their worst basketball on their biggest stage. Very disappointing.

On the other hand, who couldn't enjoy the play of Candice Wiggins. What a fun athlete to

watch. Her enthusiasm and energy is contagious. Best of luck to her in the Olympics

and WNBA. She is a great representative for Stanford.

The team should be proud to finish as the second best team in the entire country. It was exciting to see the women play their way through the competitive NCAA tournament. Great season ladies - thanks for giving us sports fans something to cheer about.

Time for tara to move on--the team has stagnated over the last decade plus. Yesterdays flat performance is the final nail.

Tara can no longer get her team over the hump. Time for new blood on the farm.

Stanford's defeat of favored UConn was quite memorable; Wiggins, Pedersen, Hones, and Appel -- among others -- played fantastic.

Bye Bye Tara: Be careful what you ask for. Getting a basketball team to the NCAA championship is no easy task. There's no promise that new head coach would actually get the team to the NCAA final, much less win it. And remember, Tara has won two national titles and consistently recruits some of the best women basketball players to one of the best universities in the world.

As a lifelong 49ers fan, I know how hard it is to replace a good coach. Losing Tara would be a terrible blow to the program and may mean NEVER getting the NCAA Final Four again.

If your comments are for real vs just getting folks juiced up, then you can serve as a poster child for my postulate that a certain segment of the population views the best team in pro football to be the Super Bowl winner, and the worst team the loser.

Commendations to a "class" team and coaches. As they say in Texas,

"there aint a horse that can't be rode...there aint a cowboy that can't be throwed." Sometimes thing go wrong for no apparent reason,

and we fail to execute as we have been coached and practiced. Hope

that the Cardinal/Vols series continue. Best of luck (except when playing the Vols :) in future engagements.

ummm... bye bye tara- tara led them to the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! She is a great coach and i would be very dissapointed to see her go!!! Anways, thanks for a great season Cardinal!! I enjoyed watching all of you play and look forward to next year!!! And Candice- you are truly amazing- you led Stanford back to the Final Four (with the help of some other great players: JJ, Jayne, Ros, Kayla, Jillian, etc.) and nobody can take that away from you, not even Tennesse!!! The mark you left on Stanford basketball history far surpasses winning a national title. Your enthusiasm, effort, and impact on others around you is amazing, not to mention your amazing basketball skills. We love you!!!

I think it is time for a change in coaching leadership for the team.

They are beginning to stagnate not because of lack of talent in the players but because of tired leadership
