Forced closing of "El Galope"
Restaurants, posted by Joan, a resident of another community, on Mar 28, 2008 at 11:30 am

The story by Sue Dremann in the March 28 Palo Alto Weekly about the sad closing of El Galope and other small businesses because of redevelopment made me very sad. El Galope was the best Mexican restaurant in the area. I grew up in Mexico and am a strict judge of Mexican restaurants.....El Galope was the best of the best.

Developers come in and offer little compensation to folks just barely making a living and toss them out....and they don't have the money to begin again. It is a very sad commentary for an area that considers itself fair and just.

there are already too many mexican restaurants in this area and more opening all the time.

its time for some more english, german, polish, norwegian, russian restaurants to open, lets have some diversity of food.
