No one will hang this one up in the Louvre, but then again, no one said every game had to be a masterpiece. Sloppy more often than not, business-like at other times, the Stanford women's basketball team fought bravely to keep its hopes of an eighth straight Pac-10 title alive, beating host California, 60-58, on Saturday afternoon.

I wouldn't call it a great game - but intense, yes. And very well attended! I used to go to games where the attendance was in the hundreds, so 10,000+ was great to see. Some good defense on both sides, but both deserved to lose too. Stanford choked at the free throw line, giving Cal too many chances to tie or win, and then Cal choked on all of those. Congratulations to Stanford, though, and hope we get one more "shot" in the Pac-10 Tournament.
