The race was GREAT! I hope it comes back to our GREAT city next year. Everyone seem to "get into" it.

Great race, great athletes, and great atmosphere. Thank you to all the volunteers and fellow spectators who allowed us to have such a fantastic day watching the race in Palo Alto. You made me proud to be a Palo Altan!

It was great to see so many locals enjoying the Prologue time trials yesterday afternoon! Of course there was a strong contingent of serious bike racing fans from all over the Bay Area and California, as well as other states. But there were also families who biked in from neighboring cities, and lots of smiling faces on people who had no clue what a time trial was all about before yesterday.

Thanks also to the Palo Alto Weekly for such a great spread on the event in last Wednesday's paper. This was useful and informative -- a real contrast to the lame or non-existent coverage offered by our other theoretically local paper last week. [For the record I have no financial or family connection to the Weekly, I just noticed the difference in the coverage. ]

What a treat the race was.The Versus (channel 81) coverage that night was spectacular too.The three announcers who normally cover the Tour de France raved about our fair city, the scores of spectators, Stanford's beautiful Palm drive, and our polished downtown for the television world to notice.Sports Illustrated has a few similar lines about downtown in it this week also. Fine job Palo Alto.Let's do it again sometime...
