Mysterious gas odor in Palo Alto

A mysterious gas-like odor prompted closure of a block of Hamilton Avenue in downtown Palo Alto shortly before noon today.

Is the gas in the sewer system? That has happened before, I'm not sure where but that could be it.

Why post a second thread on this topic? Did someone fail to notice (or look for) the other thread? (Here's the first: Web Link) There is no real new information in this one. Perhaps it would be better to close or delete it.
