Lois Hogle, environmental pioneer, dies

Lois Crozier Hogle -- known for her 40 years of "gracious activism" on behalf of the environment and foothills protection -- died at home Dec. 27 with her family beside her. She was 92.

Thank you for the very informative article on Lois Hogle. I had the joy of being her daughter Francie's room mate at University of the Pacific. I was always in awe of Francie's gifts and her position at Sea World singing and entertaining with the birds on display there. Now I know a little more about Francie's background. Palo Alto lost a gem when Lois passed in December.
