UCLA upsets No. 2 Stanford women in hoops' shocker

The Stanford women's basketball team let its game against host UCLA get away early and could never recover in a 69-56 Pac-10 Conference setback on Friday night in Pauley Pavilion.

California moved into first place in the Pac-10 with Arizona State after beating USC, 57-52. Stanford is in a third-place tie with the Bruins.

The second-ranked Cardinal (2-1, 12-2) hopes to rebound on Sunday when it travels to USC for a 2 p.m. tipoff. The Bruins took a 17-6 lead in the game's first five minutes. Stanford came back within two just before halftime.

HA ! Looks like Stanford got caught looking ahead and riding too high after that Tennessee win. Good for UCLA !
