Palo Alto warning system is upgraded

The system Palo Alto uses to warn residents of danger, including the threat of floods, has been upgraded to send personal messages, including text, to residents and businesses.

This would certainly be an improvement on the past performance of notifying people hours after a flood danger. But we know how well the city responded to the flooding situation, eight years later, and zero has been done about the bridge situation.

They should have used the warning system to warn the residents about the new city website.

I just saw this thread as I have been away. We have an unlisted home phone # and we are NOT in this system. Does anyone know the person/office to contact in the city to get onto the system? Thanks.

If this is the system that called and warned me today, I think it is working fine. I would like to know how to get my cell phone to receive texts.
