2 am sounds of shots fired?
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Jill, a resident of Mountain View, on Jul 19, 2006 at 12:09 pm

Last night I was awakened by 'popping' sounds in the distance. I then realized they sounded like shots being fired. Did anyone else hear this last night 7/19/06?

I heard maybe seven shots approximately at that time. Very strange. Sounded like it was in my neighborhood, within less than a mile.

That makes sense. I live on the Mountain View, PA, Los Altos border. Scary that it sounded so close.

I believe i heard the same thing but i dont think it was gunshots. Sounded more like someone banging on something like constuction.

I was awakened by them as well. my husband was working and said they did NOT sound like gunshots (he once lived in East Palo Alto during the bad years and knows what they sound like), but I am also very curious to know what they were!
