BUILDING FROM THE TOP DOWN ... Palo Alto-based home developers SummerHill Homes hired a new CEO last week: Robert Freed of KB Home. The developer of almost 100 housing units in the South of Forest Area on the former site of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, SummerHill is a major builder in the greater Bay Area. Freed was formerly a president and manager for Kaufman & Broad's Northern California region, as well as a senior vice president of national investment strategy. He will be overseeing external growth for SummerHill.

Is the feature on Robert Hall a typo? Why would give the background of someone who was let go, and why flame him or her so publicly? This makes little sense....

And, don't forget that Summerhill is about to build 48 new town homes of the Elks Club Site on El Camino Real.
