This says nothing about any assault yet when my husband was there today the clerk (or owner?) was sporting two black eyes and said it was from the robbery.

Another day, another violent crime in Palo Alto. It's become almost a ho-hum nowadays when citizens or businesses are robbed, asaulted and beaten.

Why isn't our City Council looking at this, which is happening right now to Palo Alto residents to very harmful effect? Why are they instead creating new bureaucrats like the "Environmental Commissioner"?

I'd much rather they spent our scarce tax dollars on another Police Officer. I'd much rather they spent a city council meeting discussing how to make the police department more effective in fighting this new crime wave.

This seems like it should be an emergency. Instead it feels like New York City in the 70's: Lock your doors, don't get involved and hope the criminal predators pick on a neighbor instead of you.

This needs some attention.
