Our city council wasting time
Palo Alto Issues, posted by Bye bye LaDoris, a resident of the Charleston Gardens neighborhood, on Sep 10, 2007 at 1:09 pm

Rather than deal with the important issues (i.e. infrastructure issues etc.) facing the city, council member Cordell is wasting time on nonsensical issues:

Clearly our city council has no desire to face the tough issues and deal with them in a competent manner.

As I consider the actions of the Council I am reminded of the story "The Ugly Americans" where building edifices was considered a better use of aid money than something ugly like improving the breed of chickens.

Of course our City Council doesn't want to deal with the "real issues" like infrastructure; it is an election year and four of them will be out of office by the end of the year. This is a lame duck City Council

Is that lame duck, or just "lame"? What a disappointment. Why can't we get pot-hole-fillers instead of these pipedreamers? Don't we have anybody who wants to do the work?

I wish that the standard for removing criticism of city hall from this forum was the same as the standard for removing criticism of the president.
