Anyone know this perp? Did he grow up in Los Altos? Was he a punk as a kid, too? Glad that he is in jail now. 8 strikes should be plenty to lock him up for life.

regarding the last comment: difficult to imagine this isn't about drugs because of the massive risk and stupidity...if so, it can and does hit anywhere and anyone, no matter where a person grew up or whether s/he was a 'punk' when younger...the 'nicest' kids from the 'best' families are threatening to kill their parents and siblings, robbing them all blind, getting felony records. despite massive intelligence and because of massive arrogance and individualism, PA and LAH may take longer to wake up to this fact and begin to come together as a community to tackle drugs than some of the less well-heeled areas. we know. we moved on and are part of a vibrant community taking it on...

Yes, the police department has released a mug shot. No idea why the newspaper choose not to print it.

I went to school with the kid and known his family forever. Very nice kid and family. Thomas got into drugs and like any person, it makes them someone else. He will have to figure his stuff out in jail.

He went to my middle school and was into partying back then. [Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.] He came from a very nice family and has two great brothers.
