Families flock to Palo Alto's 'civic hacking' celebration

Outside Palo Alto, the phrase "civic hacking" may sound like an oxymoron. But here, it's a cause to for the city to promote and celebrate, which Palo Alto did Saturday with a first-of-its-kind National Day of Civic Hacking event.

Good event... Nice seeing families out and kids making things and not engrossed in little electronic screens

We loved the event! We couldn't tear our son away from the TechShop tent. What a great way to spend the day and remind ourselves of how lucky we are to live in one of the most innovative areas in the world!

Came over from Fremont after one of my neighbors who works for the City told me about this event. Great job! Wee need o do this in Fremont, as we have a ton of high tech workers in our community.
Good job Palo Alto!
