Congratulations to all 465.

Is this the largest class? How do these numbers compare with previous years?

Good question, Resident. You may be right and I'm trying to track down a reliable answer. Last year Paly graduated "over 450." In 2011 it was 403.

District-wide enrollment this year was officially 12,396. The historical high in enrollment was about 15,000 in 1969 but at that time Palo Alto had three high schools. Cubberley opened in 1956 (closed in 1979) and Gunn opened in 1964.

Great ideas from the student speakers -- Jessica, Abby, Soo, and Justin! Thanks for your insight and promise.

And thank you Chris for sharing these ideas with the community at large with your reporting.

SOME that attended this affair left one heck of a mess for the clean up crew when the graduation was over. I made an apology to two of the crew people having to pick up all the tossed Programs and litter that were left on chairs, trashed, stepped upon and blowing all around the chair and field area. What kind of thoughtless examples are they leaving for others? Disgusting.
