This is what PAPD posted earlier today on facebook. To get their updates friend them and you will know in advance next time.

<< If you hear "explosions" later tonight, it's just the annual fireworks show at the end of the Stanford baseball game. Please share this for your friends in Palo Alto, Stanford, and Menlo Park.

Our 24-hour dispatch center often gets inundated during fireworks shows with people reporting what they think are explosions. Please help us spread the word so we can keep the 9-1-1 lines clear. After you do, go watch some baseball and enjoy the fireworks show! Stanford takes on Oregon State starting at 6:30 p.m. at Sunken Diamond. Go Cardinal! >>
