Common sense says don't light up unless it is raining. Please protect all our kids health by keeping the air clean.

I first developed asthma when I moved to San Jose. It was the smog, the doctors said. I moved to the East Bay, to a sparsely populated community, and it improved tremendously. Unfortunately, because of crime and lousy schools, we left. We moved to Palo Alto for low crime and good schools, and voila! My asthma returns. Smog and wood-burning fireplaces, the doctors say.

If you must have and use a fireplace, convert it to a gas log, please!

Air was noticeably brown and smelly today. Is anyone paying attention to these warnings?

CNN is whining about the air pollution in Beijing. They should come to Silicon Valley.
