What's going on 28xx Waverley St., at about 3:30 today?

I tried to put my two daughters into sleep this afternoon when there came several police cars and ambulances. Does any one know what happened? The address is 28xx Waverley Street, near the Matadero Creek.

A homeowner thought there was a fire in the house. No fire.

Sgt. Gary Brooks of the Palo Alto Police Department said that a bathroom fan in a home in the 2900 block of Waverley Street started smoking. The resident called 911 and evacuated until it was safe to return.
