Prayer Services for Children & Staff of Sandy Hook Elementary
Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Austen Heydon, a resident of Portola Valley, on Dec 20, 2012 at 4:03 pm

There will be two services on Friday, a week after this terrible incident that has made so many feel afraid and sad during this season that should be joyous.

Christmas "Hope" comes with work, and we hope that time with others will inspire you to some personal action to bring change to America.

1. Friday: 9:15 - 9:45 Valley Presbyterian Church

________________________________________

In the face of this unspeakable loss in our nation, those who would like to come to pray for the children and staff of Sandy Hook Elementary School and for their families are invited to gather at Valley Presbyterian Church this Friday morning, from 9:15-9:45 a.m. Prayers will be said and candles will be lit in honor of those who lost their lives. Those who would like are invited to walk the labyrinth before or after the service.

The sanctuary is also open all week for those who would like to come pray individually. Candles may be lit by the creche scene in the left hand corner of the church. 945 Portola Rd., Portola Valley

2. Friday 12:30 - 1:00 Ladera Community Church

Prayer Service for Sandy Hook at Ladera Community Church

Friday, Dec 21 from 12:30-1:00 pm

We will hold the people of Sandy Hook in prayer, light candles in memory and hope, read the names of loved ones lost, and let the light of Advent love and peace prevail. There will be opportunity to sign a community condolence card and resources for taking other positive actions in response to this tragedy made available. Please join us.
