Palo Alto's Christmas Tree Lane lighting up for holidays
Around Town, posted by Editor, Palo Alto Online, on Dec 14, 2012 at 7:43 am

Santa will be approaching Fulton Street chimneys, reindeer will be landing on the lawn, snowmen will be "singing" in a row as Christmas Tree Lane lights up Fulton Street, between Embarcadero Road and Seale Avenue in Palo Alto, on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Thank you to the residents of Fulton Street for putting up all the beautiful displays year after year!

A tip to cars - turn off your headlights (just keep day lights or parking lights on) when you drive down Christmas Tree Lane. This makes it nicer for everyone to enjoy the lights without having to shield from bright car lights. Better yet, park and take a stroll instead!

I think the suggestion of walking is excellent! I think the residents deserve combat pay for enduring the noxious exhaust fumes for 2 weeks every year.

I live near here, and this morning drove by on the way to work after hearing that the ornaments would be up now.

I saw ONE house decorated. There are actually more and prettier lights on Bryant St between N California and Rinconada.

It seems all the Scrooges have moved to my neighborhood

@ Sofie: read the article again.

"Santa will be approaching Fulton Street chimneys, reindeer will be landing on the lawn, snowmen will be "singing" in a row as Christmas Tree Lane lights up Fulton Street, between Embarcadero Road and Seale Avenue in Palo Alto, on Saturday, Dec. 15"

You are day and a half early.

The PA police could earn done revenue for the city. Station a few cars at each end and stop and ticket everyone that is driving without their lights on. It is illegal to drive without your lights in the dark despite what they tell you t to do.

Are any of the decorations on the roof? Then they should be taken down, just like Izzy's. If there is danger from the installation at izzys, then there is a danger from the stuff on Fulton street.

Do they have permit for this? Can any street put on a two week event without a permit? Rules are rules. Let's make sure Fulton street is following the rules like everyone else

Went to see what all the brouhaha was about on the IZZY'S rooftop, and it was gone! Sorry I missed it!

Sounds like we have some Scrooges here. Don' t encourage PAPD to dirtbag Christmastree Lane! That would pull officers away from the real crime!
