[Web Link Author talk: 'Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore']

A tale of global conspiracy, complex code-breaking, high-tech data visualization, young love, rollicking adventure and the secret to eternal life -- mostly set in a hole-in-the-wall San Francisco bookstore. The event is tomorrow, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. at Kepler's, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park.

[Web Link Workshop: Holiday Pinecone Crafts]

Participants can help decorate the senior center for the holiday season. They will create critters, snowmen and more from pinecones. No experience necessary, just a willingness to get messy with art supplies. The event is tomorrow, Dec. 6, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Mountain View Senior Center, 266 Escuela Ave., Mountain View.

I often enjoyed aurthor talks at Kepplar's Books in the past.

I realize that bookstores need to earn money, However, since I've a very limited income, at $10.00 a shot for such events, I can no longer attend even though I might like to.
