Running from the police makes a man thirsty. When Menlo Park officers caught up with Valentin Arias Jimenez, they discovered the alleged car thief chugging stolen soy milk beverages.

Unfortunately for suspect, he is likely to be convicted under the tough new "three slurps and you're out" sentencing rule.

Why didn't any of the three priors get him deported? And what does "facing deportation" mean? What determines whether a felon is deported or not? Can somebody explain? Thanks.

@midtowner - I was just going to ask the same thing! 3 prior felony convictions? Why wasn't he deported after the first one? That would have saved a lot of hassle and grief the the remaining 3 victims that followed that arrest... not to mention any other crimes he commited in between the felonies!
