Drive-by shooting strikes East Palo Alto man

A 23-year-old man was injured by a gunshot in a drive-by shooting in East Palo Alto just before midnight Friday, Nov. 9.

I heard the gun shots, but not a single siren.

If the victim's injuries were not life-threatening, the ambulance would not have used its sirens or driven at speed. The police often do not use their sirens, but drive with the lights flashing only, ostensibly not to give warning to the perps. This according to my nephew, the EMT.
