Herman Cain calls for third party
Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Third Way, a resident of the Embarcadero Oaks/Leland neighborhood, on Nov 10, 2012 at 2:35 pm

Sounds good to me. Let's break up the two party system!

"Appearing on Bryan Fischer’s radio program this afternoon, [Herman] Cain called for a large faction of Republican Party leaders to desert the party and form a third, more conservative party.

“I never thought that I would say this, and this is the first time publicly that I’ve said it: We need a third party to save this country. Not Ron Paul and the Ron Paulites. No. We need a legitimate third party to challenge the current system that we have, because I don’t believe that the Republican Party … has the ability to rebrand itself,” Cain said."

Let the democrat party splinter into democrat party, progressive party, social democrat party, labor party and blue dogs.

Shed the Ron Paulies into a libertine party where they can smoke their dope. Shed the Wall Street republicans like Boehner and Jeb Bush and Chris Christie into a Wall Street Party.

Here's where i differ from Cain -- conservatives earned and deserve the name Republican Party.

Real Conservatives deserve the Republican Party and brand: Cain, Bachman, Perry, Huckabee, Palin, Santorum and all real Americans.

What a great idea! Agglomerate all the extremists into one party where we can keep track of them. Maybe they'll syphon off enough votes to keep Republicans unelectable for years.

BTW, it's the Democratic party. Also BTW, all of the people who took the trouble to vote are real Americans, they're citizens who exercised their franchise and voted for the other real Americans on the various tickets.

While it is hard to adequately represent our diverse population with just two parties, would it not be difficult to get a majority of votes in an election when there are more than two? If the votes are divided between three or more parties, it would be hard to get enough of a majority from any one party for a real win.

As a Democrat, YES! This is what I was hoping for.
