The entire middle east policy is based on oil. We no longer need oil. We no longer need fossil fuel, including natural gas, if we switch to solar and wind. Sandy, the storm, has taught us this lesson.

A storm of this magnitude could NOT have been caused by the warming of the earth since the end of the mini-ice age of the 1300's to the 1800's. That merely extended the areas of temperate climate. The severity of such a storm had a warmer, more recent, and stronger origin than the natural emergence from a mini-ice age.

Seems like the environmental fanatics and religious zealots share the belief that the world is coming to an end. Whip everybody up into a fervor and get their money!

The science behind global climate change is real, but this sort of alarmist hysteria is nonsense.

We must mandate an immediate moratorium on carbon based fuel. Obama should prohibit the sale or use of gasoline, oil, coal and natural gas based on the clear and present danger of its continued use.

True there will be some inconvenience in the short run as we need to find new ways to get around and heat our (way too big!) houses until the renewable industry (uninhibited by the lobbying of the energy companies) catch up to the new market. In the meantime, put on a sweater, get out your bike and take a job closer to where you live.

The future of the planet depends on us all making sacrifices noW!

We need to eliminate fossil fuels. Wind and solar and efficiency are the way forward. We do not need more drilling and mining for fossil fuels.

Above all, we nned to oppose that horrfic pipeline from Canada. President Obama opposes it, and I support his stand on this issue.

These people in NYC, who are complaining about long gasoline lines, are the problem, not the solution.
