Romney flip-flops on FEMA
Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by flip flop, a member of the Gunn High School community, on Oct 30, 2012 at 4:39 pm

A year ago, Romney went on record saying he wanted to kill FEMA and privatize national disaster relief programs. Today, Republican governors and mayors all along the East Coast are begging for help from FEMA, which Obama has beefed up since George Bush's Katrina debacle and is now prepared to offer prompt and well organized assistance to disaster victims. The private sector has never been and will never be able to reliably provide programs of this scale.

Fact check: exactly what did Romney say about FEMA: Web Link

After a week of denials by Romney leading up to the hurricane, Romney is now saying that FEMA is a vital Federal government program. Is a flip-flopper like this someone we want to lead our nation? What program will he cut at the beginning of his term, then find out we really needed later when an emergency occurs?
