Pilot killed after plane crashes in Half Moon Bay

The wreckage of an Arizona-bound airplane that disappeared after taking off from the Half Moon Bay Airport Monday was found on a coastal bluff west of the airport Tuesday afternoon, a sheriff spokeswoman said. The pilot was killed in the crash.

Since the daylight would be low or nonexistent at that early hour, I wonder if the pilot didn't follow a normal takeoff direction and plowed into the bluff by accident because he didn't see it? But that's only guessing; engine might've stopped, etc.

I live in Seal Cove & I must say, we've had our share of troubles.

Sad, but at that same intersection a man drove his mini van over the cliff with his pregnant wife and daughter in it a few years back.
