Obama, the empty suit
Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Gary, a resident of the Downtown North neighborhood, on Oct 4, 2012 at 6:47 pm

I like to gloat, because I believe in humans having the ego to do so. I have long said that Obama is a leftist empty suit. Last night, Romney called him out. Not only was Obama empty, but he would have been better represented by Eastwood's empty chair.

It was a thrill up my leg (to paraphrase Chris Matthews), and I am still giddy.

There is no there, there with Obama. It is a near tragedy that we have had to put up with him for the past four years.

I have refrained from criticism of our CiC on foreign affair issues, involving our troops at war, because our troops do not need to hear it. However, the President of the USA is fair game on all other issues.

Obama was shown to be the empty suit that he is, last night.

Mitt Romney did it. Imagine what Reagan would have done with him!

Does Gary expect us to take him seriously? Yawn. Same song and dance for 4+ years.

I'm still trying to figure out your first sentence.

The next debate will be on foreign policy

-with the disasters in

1-Libya

2-at our Bagram base in AfPak

- this will be even worse for Obama.

It is up to Joe Biden to save Obama

-an easy job for such a mensch as Joe Biden

blessing,

Try to think of a mass of brain tissue, organized into higher order thought, with free will. It should become obvious to you. The human ego is what makes humans the superior species. It also produces the printed word, and computers, etc. Dah!

Paul Ryan will twist Biden into a pretzel...not even close. Poor Joe, doesn't have a clue about what is about to come out of his mouth.

> as for Gary, same olds same old.

yawn, as long as it it true, or tells the truth, it doesn't

matter how old it is. Do you disagree, or are you just another yawn?

I don't get your basic take. Care to explain?

Obama is an empty suit...as I have said for the past several years. He does not command his job. Hillary would have commanded the job. Too bad for the Dems that they went with Obama. Too late now.

Let's see: we had a really handsome loud man, etch-a-sketching to the middle while lying through his teeth.

And our President.

Tough call.

The lies (a very small, partial list of the Romney whoppers)

- Romney said: “About half of [the clean energy companies that] have been invested in [by the government] have gone out of business.” WRONG. The default rate on the Department of Energy's $16.1 billion energy loan guarantee program, according to Bloomberg, is at worst, about 3.6 percent.

- Governor Romney: "Health care costs have gone up by $2500 a family." ABC News’ Serena Marshall reports: Factcheck.org labeled this claim false.

- Romney said: “In one year, you provided $90 billion in tax breaks to green energy.” False. During Obama's entire term of office, not a single year, the government investment for public transit, energy-efficiency measures like better insulation for homeowners, demonstration projects (including for "clean coal"), renewable research and development projects, competitive prizes and similar projects have amounted to $90 billion. Double Bottom Line Venture Capital reported that for the period 1918-2009, oil and gas received $446.9 billion in subsidies. The nuclear industry took in $185.7 billion from 1947 to 2009. Up until 2009, the renewable energy sector, excluding biofuels, had received $5.9 billion, DBL concluded.

- Romney: "Millions Losing Health Care Under Obama": That claim is based on a report from CBO. Politfact says it’s FALSE.

Then there's the dozens of Romney lies about Medicare and his tax policy. Too long to list. Go to any non-partisan fact check site.
