@businessdecision:
Stanford does not schedule football games, the Pac-12 conference office does. It's why the Big Game is in October and not late November (per tradition).
With the complexities of scheduling a two-division, twelve-team conference (with lots of non-conference gamess), it is unlikely that the Stanford-USC game will always be on a weekend that is most convenient to Stanford every year.

How about warning people about the impact on Alpine Road. We are sick of all the Stanford traffic, especially the never ending convoys of construction trucks.

It is easy: If you are not going to the USC-Stanford game, stay away from the congested areas. If you ARE going to the game, you are one of the relative few who have tickets and you won't really mind being in the traffic. And lastly, we'll all be SUPER HAPPY if USC knocks off Stanford! GO TROJANS!!!

Resident, you're lucky. I am here this weekend and hoped to use the VTA 35 bus which travels down the closed part of Hamilton, but I could not get the VTA and the PA police to talk to each other. I guess I will try to figure out some other thing to do besides taking the bus and watching its driver who wasn't told about the closure. The age of the internet, and people communicate worse than ever.

I am sure the game is going to provide good entertainment - and I am very grateful to this forum for letting readers know about the weekend's events. Thank you!

If you live near Stanford and want to attend the game, try riding your bike there. You will have free valet bike parking and no traffic jam on your way in or out. If you live too far to bike, take the train. If you are not attending the game, stay away from the area (while watching the game on TV, of course).

Too bad USC did not show up to play. They won't get past Oregon - so their season is kaput. And they thought losing Luck would make Stanford weak good thing others stepped up to the plate. Long ride for USC back home.
