Los Altos woman calls con man's bluff

A Los Altos woman wants her peers in Palo Alto and elsewhere to be wary of anyone calling and claiming to be from the Social Security Administration after she received a call from a con man.

This made me think... it's too bad we can't get a "fake" banking information to give out for these scams from our bank. And then when someone tries to use this "gotcha" information, they get nabbed. Wouldn't that be a great way to 1) catch the bad guy and 2) scare the criminals into reducing these types of attacks?

I wonder what would happen if you gave these people fake information and then they tried to use it at a bank.
