Thieves break into four cars on Sand Hill Road

Clean cars, dirty cars, BMW, Audi -- the burglars weren't picky as they broke into four vehicles on Sand Hill Road on Aug. 15.

Maybe it's time for the local police departments to start running "stings" to catch some of these guys by loading up some "bait" vehicles with "goodies" and wait for something to happen.

It could take a year for something to happen in a Country Club parking lot. And "bait" is often recognized as such by thieves with any experience.

Park it overnight near the corner of Emerson and Homer.

Another fun experiment for the adventurous is to dress in dark clothing and try to use any ATM near California and El Camino on a week-night between the hours of midnight and 3 am.
