Fox News says Romney losing in landslide for Obama

With Obama leading most swing state polls and looking at an electoral college lead of almost 100 votes (similar to Obama's landslide electoral victory over McCain), even Fox News has come out and reported on the recent shift in the national head-to-head race.

Barack Obama has a NINE POINT LEAD over Mitt Romney.

This week's Fox poll has Obama winning 49-40.

The really bad news is Romney's unfavorables rating - Americans do not like Mitt Romney.

With two weeks to go before the convention, why would Republicans stick with a sure fire loser, a nominee that has so many skeletons in his closet that he won't even release his tax returns before the convention, giving the GOP an opportunity to make an informed decision?

[Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.]

Will the choice for the GOP nomination drag down the rest of the ticket? Will the Democrats retain the senate (now very likely) and even muster control of the House once again? With a popular President running against one of the worst GOP nominees ever (at least since Ford?) Mr Obama's coattails appear larger every day.

Why would the GOP run a nominee who won't release his tax returns? Already unlikable by a plurality of Americans, Romney's numbers will surely go much lower, even after his convention and VP 'bump'.
