La tosca
Restaurants, posted by Lauren, a resident of Woodside, on Jul 30, 2007 at 6:49 pm

La Tosca has the best Italian food. Plain and simple! Although quiet busy at night and on weekends Love this place! The food is awesome, the staff is knowledgable and professional. The ambiance is perfect for a bday party or a quiet romantic dinner for 2....or We stumbled across La Tosca about 5 or 6 months ago and now go every couple of weeks. The restaurant itself is on the small side which I much prefer. If you make a reservation request one of the curved booths along the wall. They have a pianist almost every night of the week who starts to play around 6:30 or so. She is also wonderful with requests.

The food is great, here are a few of our favorites:

Melanzane rotellini

Scambi

Vongele e cozi

Insalata La Tosca

Veal Picata

Linguine and white Clams sauce

desserts are all amazing just pick one

I just moved to Atherton a couple months ago, but so far La Tosca

is my favorite restaurant on Laurel St. They had a lady playing piano at the front of the restaurant, mirrored walls, a skylight. Kinda dark, not very big. They had the cutest waitresses, which in my experience, always seems to make the food taste better. So far, I've tried the veal saltimbocca($18.95), the Hanger steak special of the night($18.95), the cannelloni($14.95),the Scampi($12.95)

Excellent desserts as well.

I've been here four times since I moved to san carlos.La Tosca one of the best restaurants I've found in the South Bay so far. Although the crowd is a little old, a little blond, the food is excellent.

One of the few places that you can enjoy all, the service, the food and the atmosphere. La Tosca restaurant covers all the qualities that makes fine dining what it is. The food is creative, flavorful and the soft piano music in a background makes the atmosphere so romantic. I enjoyed my meal there and I'll definitely visit again.

All menu items are very tasty, carpaccio di manzo($8.95) ,roasted beets($8.95), and canneloni romana($14.95) are especially good. Service is great, however reservations are recommended on weekend nights since it tends to get very crowded. Great place to call for take-out.

I went to La Tosca with 5 other colleagues from work to celebrate an event without knowing much about this restaurant. The waiters were very nice and the atmosphere is just perfect. It's not a huge restaurant and located at on Laurel st. The food was just so great. We thought everything tasted like as if we

were really in Italy. Don't know how to explain it but you should go there to just try. You will be amazed how good everything is.A bit of heaven on Laurel st!!! I have to go back again next week!

Enough free advertising already. Maybe it is a good place, but I sure don't believe you.
