Macy's security guard bitten by alleged shoplifter

A man being stopped by a Macy's Men's Store security guard bit the guard down to the bone on Thursday, July 12, Palo Alto fire officials said.

Shame the shoplifters weren't tight lipped too!

Hope the security guard is doing OK.

I hope that the police apprehend these thugs. I just wish that there was some way that society didn't have to pay to house these animals.

What is wrong with people? Was he high on bath salts? And we wonder why 1 person every 10 min is infected with HIV! Gross!

This is an organized team that scatter when security moves to arrest. Why was security not carrying mace to blind the suspect while they put him on handcuffs? When suspect began to resist arrest, they were within legal right to mace the shoplifter. I've worked as a uniformed security before. When I tried to arrest and he fought back, I got the situation under control when I maced him. Course, after restraining him, I had to get him under running water to get the mace off his eyes because I was told it can cause permanent blindness if suspect is not treated immediately.
